Here's a quick look at Luminous's auto assembly.
Kits, bundles and work orders
Luminous has the concept of kits, bundles and virtual stock, and there's an easy way to deplete those goods once they ship out. We also have bills of materials and manufacturing, or work, orders.
The standard assembly or work order flow has its place when you do manufacturing runs in bulk and consume raw materials that then turn into finished goods. We have that flow. But if you manufacture things on the fly, based on the demand from the sales that come through that day, we have a great flow for that as well.
Tag and filter your auto-assembly line items
I'm going to navigate to the Sales Orders page and then go to Line Items. On the Line Items page, I've tagged every line item for a product that I have on auto assembly. Then I filter to all the products that have Auto Assembly as a tag.
Whenever you see a dropdown in the line item view, it's because there's a bill of materials attached. That means I can see the availability of the raw materials that will go into assembling it. Here are all the different line items and the orders they're on.
Create the assembly order
Our auto assembly flow is straightforward: bulk select, create an assembly order, and then either save it as a draft or complete it. If I complete it, Luminous automatically pulls all the raw materials and assembles just enough to attach stock to all of these line items, so you can fulfill them and ship them out.
