How to Use Pick and Pack in Luminous

Pick and Pack in Luminous streamlines the order fulfillment process by guiding you through picking items, preparing them for shipment, and ensuring accurate inventory tracking. This tutorial provides step-by-step instructions to efficiently use the Pick and Pack functionality.

Step 1. Access the Sales Order Grid

  1. Navigate to the Shipping section in Luminous.
  2. Open the Sales Order Grid to view all orders and their stages.
  3. Select the orders you want to process.
    • A Picklist Preview will appear on the right side of the screen, providing an overview of the selected items.

Step 2. Create a Picklist

  1. Select the desired orders and click Create Picklist.
  2. Choose how to proceed with the picklist:
    • Export to PDF: Print a physical copy for manual picking.
    • Start Visual Picking: Use a tablet or mobile device for a digital picking experience.

Step 3. Picking Items

  1. Begin picking by selecting Start Picking.
    • The screen will display all products across the selected orders, along with sales order details and stock locations.
  2. Follow these guidelines:
    • Pick items one by one or perform bulk actions for multiple items.
    • Split inventory across different bins or lot numbers if needed.
    • For lot-tracked items, select the appropriate lot from the designated column.
  3. Save progress:
    • Click Save Picklist to pause your work and resume later under the Picklists Module in Shipping.

Step 4. Completing Picking

  1. When all items are picked, click Finish to complete the picking phase.
  2. Luminous will move the items to a WIP Bin (Work in Progress):
    • Inventory is held in this bin until the packing process is finalized.

Step 5: Packing Items

  1. Proceed to the Packing Phase.
    • Enable QC (Quality Control) Verification if required.
  2. Scan items for verification:
    • Items will display green for correct products and red for incorrect ones.
    • Alternatively, manually verify each item and click Done.

Step 6: Marking the Order as Shipped

  1. After verification, click Mark as Shipped.
    • Inventory is officially deducted from Luminous.
  2. Export a packing slip if needed:
    • Scan it in ShipStation or other connected systems to print a shipping label.

Additional Features

  • Picklists Module:
    • View all current picklists, including status, picker details, and dates.
    • Resume incomplete picklists by clicking on them.
  • Integration with ShipStation:
    • Export packing slips and use ShipStation to generate shipping labels for both small parcel and LTL (Less Than Truckload) orders.

Tips for Efficient Pick and Pack

  • Use the Visual Picking feature for real-time updates and streamlined operations.
  • Save and resume picklists for large or complex orders.
  • Enable QC verification to ensure accuracy and reduce errors in fulfillment.
