Luminous allows you to seamlessly integrate with external systems like ShipStation, ShipHero, or other Order Management Systems (OMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). This guide will walk you through setting up your channel, creating a sales order, and pushing it to an external system for fulfillment.
Step 1. Configure Your Channel
- Access the Channels Page:
- Navigate to Manage > Channels to view existing channels.
- Edit or Create a Channel:
- Click Edit on an existing channel, or create a new channel.
- In the channel settings, enable the option Push Sales Orders to OMS.
- Select the External System:
- Choose the OMS or WMS you are integrating with (e.g., ShipStation).
- For ShipStation, select the store you are pushing to (e.g., "Manual Orders").
- Set the Push Timing:
- Configure when orders should be pushed:
- Automatic (immediate push upon creation).
- Manual (requires you to push the order manually).
- Time Delay (e.g., after 5 minutes).

- Verify Custom Mapping:
- Ensure shipping methods, carriers, and other key details are properly mapped to match the external system’s requirements (especially for WMS setups).
Step 2. Create a Sales Order
- Navigate to the Sales Order Grid and click Create Sales Order.
- Enter the required details for the sales order, including:
- Order information (e.g., order number, customer details, and requested ship date).
- Products and quantities for the order.
- Select the Channel:
- In the sales order details, choose the configured channel that corresponds to the external system (e.g., ShipStation).
- Save the sales order.
- The order will now be ready for pushing to the selected OMS or WMS.
Step 3. Push the Sales Order to the External System
- Locate the sales order in the Sales Order Grid.
- Select the order and click the Actions Menu (three dots).
- Choose the option Push Fulfillment.
Step 4. Monitor Updates in Luminous
- Once the order is pushed, the external system will handle fulfillment.
- For example, ShipStation or a 3PL like ShipHero will process the order.
- As updates occur in the external system (e.g., tracking numbers, order status):
- Luminous will automatically pull these updates back into your system for visibility and tracking.

- Custom Mapping: For WMS integrations, ensure accurate mapping of shipping methods, carriers, and other variables to avoid errors.
- Push Timing: Adjust the timing configuration in the channel settings to suit your operational needs.
- Order Status Synchronization: Luminous maintains real-time synchronization with external systems, ensuring up-to-date information.
